Just look at how much veils cost...a piece of fabric that most people only wear for the ceremony is 100 and up! My mom is making mine.
Yeah ridiculous. It’s not even something that’s lined! It’s a see through piece of fabric! I even see people on these bridal resale sites trying to sell their name brand veils for $3-400! No thanks and no way! Kudos to you for having your mom make it!
How the price of seemingly ordinary items or services automatically skyrocket because they are associated with weddings.
For instance, sashes. WHY on this green earth should a normal satin sash that normally costs 50 cents per yard at Walmart suddenly cost $400? Granted, you’re probably going to wear satin sash from somewhere other than Walmart on your big day but I was just trying to make a point. Even if you choose a nicer satin sash from a reputable fabric store, it wouldn’t cost $400.
Oh and don’t even get me started on services: catering, DJs, photography…
ESPECIALLY photography. I’m seeing people in DC charge upwards of $6000 for full day coverage. Unless you are going to photoshop the living daylights out of me, and airbrush me to the ends of the earth so I look like the child of Zeus who has magically met her goal weight, I’m not shelling out money for your ridiculous rates. I would only do that in the event that your name happens to be Mario Testino…
“I wonder what life would be like if he wasn’t here. I don’t worry so much about me not being here. I tease him all the time. I say, ‘If I am not here, you better find someone to take care of you!’ Then I tell myself, ‘Get those fears out of your head.’ It’s going to happen, and whether it’s me or him, that is all ordained.”

Hello :) I'm wondering if you would happen to know a store that would sell light blue heels for my wedding? I've been looking everywhere and I'm not sure I want to order online....how reliable would that be?
If you have time, I’d order multiple styles from Shoes.com and Zappos.com because they both have free shipping and returns. You can order 5 options, and if none of them work, make your maid of honor pack em up! Oh, and Badgley Mischka makes some beautiful blue shoes which are currently on sale at Shoes.com -L
